History Of Institution

Siraj Uddin Sarker Vidyaniketan & College is a non –governmental educational institution. Mr. Shahaj Uddin Sarker , a Prominent academician and son of aristocratic Sarker’s family in Tongi ,  founded  this educational institute in 1987 AD ( 1394 in Bangla year).

 He was a legendary elected  chairman of Tongi Corporation. For a long time He realized the importance of establishing an educational institute for deprived people of Tongi, Bhoran and Arichpur and so therefore this institution was founded. At the initial level, the maximum expenditure of total construction cost provided by this great hearted person. During this time, many other prominent academician and social personal of that area assisted in this social welfare activities. Unanimously, this institute was founded after the name of Mr. Siraj Uddin Sarker who was a prominent academician, social activist and elder brother of Mr. Sahaj Uddin Sarker.

There were few students in the early years of this institute. Enrollment quantity of student in the first year was only 87. Only five teachers were appointed during that time. They have given massive effort to develop this institute.

In 1993 the students from the school participated in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam.

In 1995, two shifts have been introduced due to excessive pressure of student’s accommodation. Girls attend school in the morning shift while boys attend their classes starting from noon.

To develop a country, there is no alternative of having a skilled human resource because the skilled human resource in the country would be turn into a capital to face the challenges of poverty. Considering this fact vocational section has been included in 1995,

In 2013, Siraj Uddin Sarker Vidyaniketan has been promoted to college considering continuous success in academic result and to meet the growing need of learning in this community
